North American Grip Rankings

Current rankings of active grip sport / armlifting athletes based on analysis of contest results. To be considered, athletes must have competed at least once in the past 12 months. The purpose of the rankings is to provide an indication of who would be expected to do well in a balanced grip contest (i.e. the higher an athlete is ranked, the greater chance he/she would have of winning).

These rankings are challenging to assemble, given many athletes only compete once or twice a year. Grip Sport International weight classes are used for the rankings. Because Armlifting classes are slightly different, attempts are made to place athletes in the GSI class in which they would be most likely to compete. Though the rankings may not be perfect, the intent is to recognize some of the sport’s top competitors and hopefully provide an additional source of motivation.
